I don’t get what boundary of comedy Nathan Fielder pushed in the Rehearsal, I didn’t get it from the very beginning, for me it is a show of a guy who likes to manipulate people, and in the end no one except that poor kid (if they were not performing) in the last episode actually took everything seriously and was therefore intentionally hurt. For me watching this show was observing the process of a huge production crew loaded with money from HBO, working day and night creating fake scenes, that, I, as audience, feel extremely impatient and annoyed for all the participants, including the religious woman who was deliberately depicted as a retard, the guy she dated and took to the set who left obviously because none of the shit he saw made any sense, the parents, the actors, basically everyone: so why are those people still playing the ridiculous game? Nathan Fielder himself, as well, explained: because they’re going to be on HBO. Apparently everyone knew what was going on, no one was a 6-year-old. Nathan fielder himself deliberately let the camera point to a kid actor (adult) smoking in the yard; he re-enacted an actor’s role in a situation where the actor was forcibly asked to give Nathan the key of his house; … SO, what exactly is this cheap, dirty reflection game on the power and exploitation of television? What is funny here? No one cared less about those people’s inner thoughts than Nathan Fielder himself, he knew exactly what happened and yet he kept performing to be sad, surprised, lost… I really feel so awkward, not in a funny way"<>"" && "
